There are around 3000 engineering colleges across India… and thousands of small and medium sized Software Companies are making their business and generating sufficient revenue. Software companies are continuously facing increasing attrition ratio and the demand of qualified engineers is increasing every year. This adds up to a lot of openings in the software companies.

Still, today’s engineering graduates are not able to meet the industry expectation and fail to crack the technical interviews. Even from those who are selected, all are not able to meet the company expectations and the company has to invest another 4-6 months as a ramp up time for them to learn the required technologies and participate actively in the mainstream development.

Experts Speak:

"Currently, only about 25 per cent of graduates are employable in IT jobs. In BPO, the percentage is lower, hovering between 10 and 15 per cent." - Ms. Sandhya Chintala, Senior Director, Education Initiative Nasscom.

“We estimate that the industry is spending Rs 3,000 crore annually to make engineering graduates employable. It is not just about the money. The industry is suffering losses as it spends at least six months training the new recruits,” - Mr B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of Infotech Enterprises.

Shashwat Institute is a finishing school where our several year industry experienced faculty trains and works with the engineering students to guide them in their major and minor projects so that, they can eventually match the industry expectations and prove to be an asset to the software industry.
